Application Stores, you want it, you get it!

Whereas LG promised an application store for the end of the year 2009, Samsung could leapfrog by launching its store very soon. By this means, Samsung develops its Samsung Music Store launched on March.  Samsung announced it at the last press conference the last 15th of June.

After Apple Store, OVI Store, LG Store, only the South Korean operator was missing.

Unfortunately, this application store will not be compatible with many mobile. Such as the Apple Store, numerous companies (not only Samsung) could also add their applications. One wish is we hope that developers will follow. Indeed, the success of an application store is linked to the diversity and the technologies of its applications.

Samsung will have to troubleshoot to be sure to develop its store. Or else, it could be quickly obsolete with the launch of new mobile generations.

Apple Store new competitor: Nokia’s OVI Store.

Nokia try to increase his turnover with the opening of its downloading platform: OVI Store.

This downloading platform is a real competitor for Apple. Indeed, it will not only have applications but also a multimedia platform which allows downloading film and music. Moreover, Nokia adds a geolocation platform which gives details about the environment the user is located.

Nokia’s objective is to compensate the decrease of its phone sales. Indeed, since the beginning of the year 2009, Nokia like the other telco has a high fall of its sales.

This platform would be available at the end of the week for Nokia US users but French ones should wait a bit longer, it will be available during summer time.
